Small Groups at Cypress Meadows: "Where No One Stands Alone."
Small Groups are made up of 8 to 10 people who meet once a week for the purpose of growing in Christ-likeness, caring for each other and contributing to the work of the church.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is so important about joining a Small Group?
A: Attending church provides wonderful opportunities to grow spiritually and to meet new friends. But in a Small Group, you really get to know people. You can share problems and ask questions in a safe, intimate setting. You will gradually develop close relationships with people who won't think twice about dropping everything just to listen, lend a hand, and pray for you. Joining a Small Group may prove to be one of the most powerful, important decisions you will ever make.
Q: How do I know which group is best for me?
A: You have complete freedom to try different groups for a "good fit." If one group isn't working for you, then check out another group. There won't be any hard feelings. We WANT you to feel comfortable.
Q: I have a busy schedule. How will I ever find time for one more thing?
A: We completely understand! That's why we've designed Small Groups to accommodate almost any schedule. Look at our Small Groups calendar (right) for available times and locations. We believe you will be pleasantly surprised.
Q: How long do the meetings last?
A: It varies. Some groups meet for approximately one to two hours. Others meet for as briefly as 45 minutes. Your new-found friends will also probably want to schedule occasional fun events during the month, but you will be able to provide input as to dates and times as part of the group.
Q: What about child care?
A: Many of us have children so we understand this dilemma. Contact Christi Mahar at 727-725-4570 if you have young children, and she will help to identify the groups that can best accommodate you.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Talk to any of the group leaders (listed at right). You may also contact Christi Mahar, Director of Small Groups and Community Life (pictured at right), at 727-725-4570.
