Ignite - Consumed by a Burning Desire

September 16th, 2007

Ignite - life on fire

Have you ever seen someone who was consumed by a burning desire? Think of a kindergartener at school with their hand waiving in the air and a burning desire to speak.  Or a person like Martin Luther King Jr. who was compelled to speak out about injustice.  You’ve probably experienced this yourself - where something inside moves you to the point where you feel you must say something.  People who are white-hot for God have a burning desire to talk about Him with others. Ignite - Ravaged by Holy Fire

September 9th, 2007

Ignite - life on fire

When a company gets white-hot and really starts to take off, other companies analyze what they’re doing so they can become white hot as well.  Sports teams do the same thing.  When a team gets hot, other teams study game film and begin to copy what’s working well.  That is what we’re doing spiritually - studying those people in the Bible who were spiritually hot so we can become white-hot ourselves.  Today we focus on having compassion for those in need.   Read the rest of this entry »

Ignite - Ring of Fire

Ignite - life on fire

When cooking with a charcoal fire have you ever noticed what happens when one of the briquettes rolls off to the side separate from the others?  It doesn’t burn as hot and it cools down much more quickly than the briquettes that are stacked closely to each other.  We can learn an important spiritual truth from that.

Ignite - How to Start a Fire

Ignite - Life on Fire

Fire can do a lot of wonderful things.  Fire can be used as a primary source of heat.  It can be used to light a room.  Fire can even be used to melt and purify metal.  When wood ignites everything changes.

The same is true spiritually. When someone is really ignited with the fire of God, it changes everything!  Do you want to heat up your spiritual life?

Playlist: Breakthrough

August 12th, 2007

Games can teach us a lot about life.   There are lots of parallels between chess and life.  Checkmate is a great feeling when victory is immenent and all your strategy has paid off.  On the other hand, a stalemate occurs when you’ve exhausted all your options and there’s no victory in sight.  You feel frustrated and hopeless and cry out for a breakthrough.  Are you facing  stalemate in your career, your marriage, your health, or your life?  Do you need a breakthrough?

Summer Reflections: Searching for God Knows What

July 1st, 2007

In the last week, have you lost your keys?  If you’re married, have you ever misplaced your wedding ring?  If you have, then you understand how frantic and preoccupied we can become searching for something that’s lost.  What is it that you’re searching for right now?

Baptism Sunday

June 24th, 2007

Listen to the stories of some of the children, teens, and adults whose lives have been transformed by God after they choose to put their faith in His Son, Jesus.  Some went to church as a child and drifted away, some never really knew about Jesus before attending Cypress, some were living aimless even distructive lives… until they began attending Cypress Meadows and found the thing missing from their lives - faith in Jesus.  Hear real people, with real lives, who found real hope…
