Undercurrent - Times When We Feel the Depths of Loneliness

What makes issolation and separation so devistating?  God created each and every one of us in His image - in the image of a relational God.  He hard-wired into us this need to be in connection with Him and other human beings.  If we are designed to live in community, then why do we wrestle with lonliness so much?

Undercurrent - Escaping the Riptide of Worry

Life is full of so many stresses and pressures.  There are health issues, financial pressures, family challenges, and more.  Often the ”what ifs” begins to grow which adds to the pressure.  “What if I lose my job?”  “What if the tests come back positive?”  “What if this relationship fails?” We can find ourselves caught up in a riptide of worry, a current that is so strong we can’t swim against it.

Secret Confessions of a Pastor - Confessions from the Pew

Given the choice I think every one of us would rather be considered a winner than a loser.  All of us would rather have our friends think of us as a success than a failure.  In fact, being called a failure is one of the ultimate insults in our culture.   So, last month when we asked you to send us your ananymous confessions, it came as no surprise when many of you said you feel like a failure.
