Your Move – Pay Attention to the Tension (part 3 of 3)
1. What is one of the best decision you have ever made? What is one of the worst decision you have ever made?
2. Do you consider yourself a “quick” decision maker or someone who likes to take your time to decide? Does it depend? Explain some of the “tensions” you feel in a short decision versus a decision that may take more time to decide.
3. Pastor Douglas warns us to “pay attention to the tension” when we are making important decisions in our lives. Tell about a time you ignored this tension and later wished you had dialed into it more. Recall a decision you made when you paid attention to the tension and were glad you did.
4. Read 1 Samuel 24 together. How difficult do you think it was for David not to take the situation with Saul into his own hands? We have a tendency to take things into our own hands versus trusting God’s timing and provision. Why do we struggle with this principle in our own lives?
5. Read Jonah chapter 1 this week. What kind of tension do you think Jonah felt when making the decision not to go to Nineveh? What can we learn from his story that will help us to pay attention to the tension?

Game plan week 6
1) Mount Rushmore honors four U.S. presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. If you could add any person to Mount Rushmore, who would you add and why?
2) Why do you think most of us act as if God sees us as we see ourselves?
3) Why do you think we are so quick to discount ourselves based on our talents, our past, or age?
4) Read 1st Samuel 16:1-13 together as a group. The other sons seemed like the obvious choice to be anointed as king. Why do you think God chose David? In what ways have you seen God use this kind of selection process in your life?
5) Besides David, when you think of God using people in the Bible that we may have discounted from a human perspective, who do you think of, and why do you think He chose them?
